Paraffin & Asphaltines

Paraffin wax and Asphaltenes are the heavy constituents of crude oil.  Often, they begin to worsen as a well ages.  As bottom hole temperature and pressure begin to drop, paraffin and asphaltenes will often begin to precipitate from crude oil, which can build up in production equipment, flow lines, and downhole, causing mechanical failures, pressure build up or restricting the flow of fluids throughout a system.

Cochran Chemical Company has a number of solvents, dispersants and pour point depressants that are designed to help control the precipitation and build-up of paraffin and asphaltenes.
